Win by Submission Against the Cage Melynda Price Books

I've been trying to gather my thoughts about this book after finishing it a while ago and I'm not really sure what to say that hasn't already been said. The MMA sub genre has been done repeatedly so there's really nothing new under the sun as far as that is concerned. Win By Submission is the story of an injured fighter trying to regain his mobility by going to a physical therapist in the final stages of his recovery. Sounds simple enough but there is more to the story and the characters that makes this one a little more unique.

Katie Miller is your average innocent heroine who is sought by the lone wolf, seemingly dangerous fighter Cole Easton. But there is a significant twist. Katie is hiding a dangerous secret that ultimately puts Cole's life in danger when her less than stable ex boyfriend hunts them both down. There was a bit of a mystery/suspense element to this one that I really enjoyed. Katie may have been a little innocent in mind but in body and spirit she's seen and had things done to her that could break a strong woman. A survivor at her core, Katie had a determined inner strength that aided her in her chosen profession and ultimately draws Cole in who is determined to regain his physical prowess and get back in the ring. Which, of course, has no room for romantic entanglements. He was a pretty decent guy, if a bit of a man-whore. He began as a closed off a--hole but his warmth started to shine through the more time he spent in Katie's presence. I liked that he protected her in whatever way she needed. Whether guarding her virtue as best he could or being a physical presence in her life, Cole was a stand up guy (no pun intended).

One thing I was happy to see was that the relationship between Cole and Katie wasn't rushed or forced into an "insta-love" situation. Neither had any designs on the other and actually didn't really like each other much at first meeting. With each gradual step, as they shared a home and their personal spaces it felt natural and organic to the situation. There were a few things that irked me about the story but ultimately it was a decent read with great characters and the excitement of anticipation.

Win by Submission Against the Cage Melynda Price Books Reviews

I hate giving 3 star ratings because I want to either love or hate something but not this time. I wanted to love the story but it kind of drags. Could move better.

The thing that moved it from a 4 star rating was my inability to get over how many times the author used the words "possessive", possession", etc.
Someone PLEASE do me a favor, if you still buy this book after reading this, please highlight and count how many times these words are used including the overuse of roundhouse. I swear, there are other moves that could be used. Please include numbers in your review of this book. Thanks.
Katie Miller a physical therapist reluctantly takes on a MMA fighter Cole Easton.as favor to uncle.Cole slowly breaks down her barriers and her insecurities. She tries to get him back on his feet so he can fight again and he does the same for her, facing an abusive ex,who still wants her.If he cant have her then no one else can either. Her uncle obviously sent Cole to Katie other than rehab.
Don't get me wrong. The book was an enjoyable read. I don't mind reading sophomoricly worded fiction. After a minute I can get into it. What made it be a page turner went beyond the way too obvious sexual tension. It was the writers sensitivity in dealing with the relationship between this really hard man and this really pitiful rape victim. Most of us would have dismissed this babe as being unreachable, no where near worth it, and would have left her to her very predictable fate. It wasn't the fact that Cage fighting dude, was her obvious White Knight, it was the strategy he used in "being there for her" that I found impressive. If not for that, I'd of given it it two. Because of that I gave it a three.
Love this series! Read and listened to Win by Submission. Story of Cole, sexy alpha MMA fighter and Katrina, sweet Physical Therapist. Fate brings them together but their past will TRY to keep them apart. The chemistry is undeniable, their banter is laughable, but will it be enough? Can Cole gain Kat's trust? Will Kat be able teach Cole what it means to love? These two will have to learn to submit to one another because time is not on their side.
Win by submission was a very sexy energetic read. Passionate and emotional I was very pleased with this story. Cole was the typical hard hearted never loved before bad boy. But he slowly let down his walls or rather they were knocked down brick by brick by the brave and beautiful Katie.

Her past was one nightmares are made of and my heart simply broke at every uncovered secret she shed from her shattered mind. Cole grew into one amazing and wonderfully loyal hero. Not once did he even think about another woman after setting his eyes on his Katie. His possessive nature flourished and was a major hot factor.

The suspense and crazy ex boyfriend drama along with a little too many " we should have talked" moments of angst were a tad on the high side and that's the only reason I took away a star. I loved the ending and the Sweetest Romantic epilogue ever. I'm eagerly wanting Kruzes book like RIGHT Now.
Win by submission is by far one of THEE BEST BOOKS I have had the privilege of reading this year!! Cole and Katie's love story is full of the hot and needy push and pull passion that most of us ever dream of! It is also full of heartache and pain due to an abusive and scary past! Melynda finds a way to strengthen and champion a warrior hidden deep within the abuse to help give the victim freedom...which some of us never seem to get! This book grabbed me from the first page and held on to the very end!! This is a MUST READ for every book-lover out there!! Phenomenally written Melynda!! I am a fan for life!! x
